THIS COMING WEEKEND the Guardia Civil is holding an exhibition in the Port of Torrevieja, showcasing their equipment and the latest law enforcement technology used in the field of public safety and crime prevention.
It's your opportunity to meet local police officers first-hand – the brave men and women who work tirelessly to keep our streets safe and provide security every day.
The police force will be exhibiting their latest specialist vehicles, including their patrol cars and their new high-performance traffic motorcycles.
Visitors will be invited to take a detailed look inside their cars, and even sit in the vehicles and have their photos taken (perhaps the ultimate selfie opportunity).
The family-friendly event will feature a show by the Guardia Civil K-9 Unit, illustrating how the police dogs are trained and how they work alongside their law enforcement handlers.
Local officers will demonstrate the unseen work and organisation that goes into the preparation for the citizen security patrols that provide a daily presence around the locality.
And the force's Bomb Disposal Unit will be on hand, with the highly trained officers responsible for deactivating and analysing unexploded ordnance explaining their increasingly vital role in today's society.
